The Program

Imagine combining empowering Vinyasa and Power yoga with potent practices like breath-work, journaling and yin yoga - at the turning point of the new year!

We couldn’t think of a better combo!

During this New Years Retreat each day starts with a 2 hour morning practice where you can expect long warm-up’s, plenty of time to flow, play and try new things. And an extra long Savasana of course!

Our morning classes are physically demanding and not suitable for complete beginners to yoga. With that said, as long as you’re ready to move, sweat and are open to challenge yourself (in a good way!) you’re more than welcome to join us!

In the afternoon we come together again for deep-stretching yin yoga, meditation and on some days a workshop.

During this retreat there will be two guided journaling workshops and one breath-work session. You do not need to have any experience in any of them before, simply come with an open mind.

The Food

At Cocoon, food plays a huge role, so rest assured you’ll be nourished with the most delicious meals, prepared with lots of love!

After the daily morning practice, a generous brunch buffet will be served, featuring freshly baked bread, homemade jams and spreads, granola, eggs from the farm’s chickens, fresh juices, and much more.

In the afternoon, between sessions, you can look forward to a hearty snack.

For dinner, we’ll enjoy a wholesome buffet-style meal prepared with as much local, organic produce as possible.

On New Year’s Eve, we’ll get extra festive with a special three-course dinner to celebrate!

If you have any food allergies or follow a lactose- or gluten-free diet, please be sure to mention it in the booking form.

Our Venue

COCOON - A OASIS NEAR THE ATLANTIC IN ALENTEJO

Located on the unspoiled Atlantic coast of Portugal, Cocoon is set on 275 acres of farmland in the Alentejo region, just a short drive from the charming fishing village of Vila Nova de Milfontes, known for its long stretches of untouched coastline and white-washed villages.

Cocoon consists of a main building that surrounds a central courtyard and houses most of the rooms, as well as the indoor dining space and lounge areas. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and simply furnished, with single, double, and triple options available. Bathrooms are either en-suite or shared between two rooms. All bedding and towels are provided, and rooms are well suited for a winter stay with extra blankets available.

Our yoga sessions take place in Cocoon’s beautiful indoor shala — a light-filled, peaceful space with high ceilings and traditional hand-made tiles that create a serene atmosphere perfect for winter practice.

Across the land, you'll find plenty of quiet corners to explore — walking paths through open fields, hammocks under the trees, and the occasional visit from Cocoon’s resident peacocks, sheep, goats, and chickens.

HOW TO GET HERE

Cocoon is located 2 hours south of Lisbon and the easiest way to get here is by a rental car or share an Uber/Bolt or with others.

We’re happy to connect you with others to share the cost, simply let us know when you book. It’s also a possibility to take a bus from Lisbon to Vilanova De Milfontes and from there take a taxi/Uber.

  • NAZARENO GRISOLIA (URU)

    CO-FOUNDER & LEAD YOGA TEACHER

    Nazareno is an experienced Vinyasa yoga teacher who’s been teaching full-time around the world since 2011. With over 5,000 teaching hours and thousands of hours of training, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every class, retreat, and training he leads.

    With a background in martial arts and Ashtanga, Naza is known for his playful yet disciplined approach to intermediate and advanced asanas. He loves encouraging students to explore their edge, approach challenges with curiosity, and discover what’s possible on their mats.

    Naza’s teaching combines warmth, skill, and a good sense of humor, making even the toughest poses fun to explore. He creates a supportive space where students can challenge themselves, grow, and enjoy their yoga practice.

  • LISA

    LISA ANDERSSON RHODINER (SWE)

    CO-FOUNDER INSPIRO YOGA & LEAD TEACHER

    Lisa is an experienced Vinyasa, Yin, and Meditation teacher, teacher trainer and mentor for yoga teachers.

    Since completing her first teacher training in 2012, she has dedicated her life to yoga, accumulating over 1,000 hours of yoga studies and 5,000+ teaching hours. As a registered Yoga Alliance YACEP (Continuing Education Provider), Lisa has led 20+ international yoga teacher trainings, certifying more than 150 yoga teachers worldwide, and has hosted 100+ yoga retreats across the globe.

    Known for her empowering, strong flow classes, Lisa weaves in thoughtful themes and transitions, offers intentional hands-on adjustments, and always plays a carefully curated playlist to accompany the flow.

  • CHECK IN / ARRIVAL DAY

    Check in at Cocoon is at 3pm. If you arrive earlier you can leave your bags and either chill by the lake or in the garden.

    The retreat starts at 4.30pm.

    CHECK OUT / DEPARTURE DAY

    Check out is at 10am after our morning class.

  • The retreat starts at 4.30pm. We’ll gather in the yoga shala or outside for an introduction, followed by a grounding yoga practice and dinner.

    The retreat ends after our morning yoga class (this class will be 60min) and breakfast on the last day of the retreat.

    Check out is at 10am.

  • Cocoon is located 2 hours south of Lisbon and the easiest way to get here is by getting a rental car or share an Uber/Bolt or with others.

    Both Uber and Bolt are a lot cheaper than a regular taxi.

    We’re happy to connect you with others to share the cost, simply let us know when you book.

    It’s also a possibility to take a bus from Lisbon to Vilanova De Milfontes and from there take a taxi.

  • The best way to know this is to take one of our FREE CLASSES, to get a taste of how we teach.

    If you’re someone who likes a dynamic practice, with a bit of challenges then you’ll probably like it. That’s what you can expect in our morning classes.

    If you’re more into a more gentle yoga, we’re probably not the best fit.

  • Absolutely!

    The majority of our guests travel alone and you’ll see that you’ll make a lot of new friends!

    • Your own yoga mat (if you like! (there are also mats available onsite)

    • Refillable water bottle

    • Yoga clothes

    • Warm clothes (during the day, especially in the sunshine, it usually is very pleasant, spring-like weather. The evenings and nights are cold.)

    • Beanie

    • Ear plugs and sleeping mask if you’re a light sleeper

    • Possibly a raincoat (check the weather forecast)

  • No you don't need to bring any of those as the venue will provide that.

  • The weather varies but normally is around 10-18 degrees. The days can be warm and sunny and evenings/nights chilly.
