A SIMPLE AND POWERFUL 3-STEP JOURNALING EXERCISE

I want to share a simple, powerful and effective journal exercise I hold very dear to my heart.

I learnt this technique in one of my teacher trainings back in 2017, where we had to do it every day for 30 days. It was amazing!

You’ve probably heard that it’s very powerful to journal/ write things down, but maybe you’re like me and feel like it’s hard to know where to start?

I’m a person who loves structure and sometime don’t have so much time and that’s why I really like this 3 step journaling exercise cause it can be done really short and sweet!

Grab a piece of paper or even better your journal (if you haven’t got one maybe it’s time to?).

Find a blank page.

The first thing you’ll write down is..

I CELEBRATE…

Here you’ll write anything that you’re wanting to shine a light on today and CELEBRATE! Maybe your morning coffee? Your partner?

Being able to walk out in nature?

It can be big or small.

What are you celebrating and grateful for today?

The second one is…

I CLEAR…

This can be anything that you want to shake off, get rid of, release and let go of.

Worry?

Anxiety?

Self-criticism?

Things that really don’t serve you and you’ll be much better without.

Again it does’t always have to be major things, it can also be small.

This part of this exercise is especially interesting to look at if you do this over a long period of time cause THERE’S ALWAYS SOMETHING WE CAN LET GO OF!

So keep it up and clear out your inner cupboard!

The third part is I DESIRE…

Oh yes, we’re allowed to want, wish, dream and desire!

It doesn’t mean that we’re not grateful just because we wish for something!

Go ahead and jot down what you’re longing for in this moment!

Courage?

Self-love and acceptance?

A good meal?

Touch?

Whatever you do - don’t hold yourself back!

To simplify:

  1. I CELEBRATE…

  2. I CLEAR…

  3. I DESIRE…

I hope you enjoy it!

And if you can do it as often as you can!

It’s been a very powerful tool to me over the years, even more so in challenging times. I’ve shared it many times at my retreats and teacher trainings, and we’ve even shared what we wrote down with each other. POWERFUL STUFF!
